Hello,

I'm looking for a word meaning something like chapter but in a newspaper column. If an author is writing about the same topic (Florijan) in several columns, we can say that these columns are ??? cycle on?? that topic?

Thank you in adavnce. Here's the sentence:

Is it a series of articles (more than one over a period of time), or one article spread out over a few pages, in which the headline would be the same. I would probably use "article" or "series" Other words solely meaning chapter in a newspaper would be excerpt, piece, segment

"series" would be closer. Usually used if the articles are intended to be read one after another.

A "column" can not only be a part of a newspaper page, but also a daily, weekly column (article, mostly with comments) in exactly the sense you want to express.

I have finished my weekly column on Floijan.

But she hasn't finished one weekly column, she has been writting over couple of weeks about this topic in her columns. Or perhaps I didn't understand your point.

A weekly column is a article commenting on a certain topic or in a certain style each week (i.e. once a week). A daily column appears each day.

What about - 'series of columns' ?

If you just use 'column' it implies that the jounalist only ever wrote about that particular topic or in that style and had now decided to stop altogether.

Ok, ''series of columns' is fine, I hope it is used in English. Thanks
