RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

· USRA internship at **** (supervisor: ********, summer 2007).

Program data acquisition applications and numerical simulations for the **** control room.

1) Wrote Matlab applications to measure the ion beam energy, to tune the linear accelerator and to update databases.

2) Modeled the temperature distribution of a Tantalum target hit by a proton beam with non-linear partial differential equations.

3) Programmed numerical simulations that display the ion beam envelopes evolution through the beam lines.

Explore the possibilities of an adaptive optics technology using a liquid mirror made of ferrofluid with various configurations of copper wires transporting direct current.

1) Programmed Matlab numerical simulations of the ferrofluid surface over the magnetic field generated by the direct current in the wires.

2) Minimized functions with a method to find the optimal configuration of copper wires and the best currents needed to produce a mirror capable of generating the various Seildels and Zernikes that correct a given wavefront.

3) Conceived and constructed an experimental set up to verify the accuracy of the simulations.

4) Participated to weekly meetings of ******* liquid mirrors research group and wrote a summer report.

Hi Anon,

first of all it depends where are you applying for job...Resume format is mostly used in USA, Canada (many other countries) while Europass CV is official format used in Europe.

From your Resume (format that you provided is Resume format) it seems that you recently graduated from school. Therefore, I would recommend reading

Thanks,

There is one thing that I'm having a hard time on; verb tense. Is it okay if I make a list of tasks that way :

1-Programming applications ...

2-Writing reports ...

3-Attending to meetings...

instead of using the simple past ?

In addition, before listing the tasks I would like to resume my work experience in on sentence, could I use

Hi,

There is one thing that I'm having a hard time on; verb tense. Is it okay if I make a list of tasks that way :

If you are describing your current job, use simple present to describe your 'tasks', eg write reports.

If it's your previois job, use simple past, eg wrote reports.

Thanks a lot !

But just to make sure, because it still sounds weird to my ear, but if you say it's the right way to do it I will beleive you, considering it's a previous work experience I should write :

Tasks: Programmed data acquisition applications and numerical simulations for the ISAC 2 (isotope separation and acceleration 2) control room.

Should I say :

Tasks: I programmed data acquisition applications and numerical simulations for the ISAC 2 (isotope separation and acceleration 2) control room.

instead ?

Thanks again

In US and UK they term it as CV whereas in India It is termed as Resume. What ever the term is The CV Format we present is important. It should be highly impressive, whoever sees it should be impressed.
