Cut in cubes or cut into cubes

Hi all, thank you for helping me for so long and I can feel that my English is improving. By the way, I have a question here. Can I know which of the following sentences are correct?

a) He cuts the mango into cubes.

b) He cuts the mango in cubes.

I guess both are correct but I am not really sure whether my guess is correct or not. Any senior member here is able to help me to solve my puzzle? If possible, you may highlight the English mistake that I have possible made in this request thread.

Regards
