Customs vary from X to X.

I'd appreciate it if someone would answer my question. Thanks in advance.

I'd like to know the difference between A, B, C and D, especially the usage of nouns after each preposition in these 4. My aim is to teach my students these expressions correctly.

A: Customs vary from X to X. (X would be, for example, country, person, culture, age [period of time in history]---)

B: Heart rate varies with (the) Y. (Y would be, for example, age[time a person have lived], weight, residence, ---)

C: Different Zs have different customs.

D. Customs vary depending on the X. / Heart rate depending on (the) Y.

It seems to me X is often place, country, culture, age (a period of history), person, individual, --- while Z is often (the) age (the number of years a person has lived), weight, residence, nationality, religion ---.

Let me analyze on these 4.
I think what is mainly used in X (in type A) would be something with some range of space, or something with some degree of length of time, or person having some range of living space and living hours. We can say X possesses customs.
Is my analysis correct? --- Question 1

I think what is mainly used in Y (in type B) would be something that constitutes a person's present living conditions / situations. We can't say Y possesses heart rate.
Is my analysis correct? --- Question 2

I think what is used in Z would be the same as X in A, and type A and type C would be the same.
Am I correct?

I think "depending on / according to" in D can be used both for type A and for type B.
Am I right?
