I am now reading a manual for operating a complex piece of equipment called plazma metal recovery system, but let this not bother you — I am looking for a purely linguistic advice. On page one of the manual, there is the list of system components. It looks roughly like this:
- sub-system A (CUSTOMER TO PROVIDE); - sub-system B; - sub-system C (CUSTOMER TO PROVIDE); ...
I could not grasp the meaning of the words in parentheses however much I tried. I ask you help in this matter. Do they mean 'OPTIONALLY"? Do they mean "IT IS THE CUSTOMER'S CONCERN TO PROVIDE THE SUB-SYSTEM"? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards, Max
