Curd vs whey

Hi.
Is there any difference between curd and whey? are they synonymous?
They are used one after each other in the little Miss Muffet song.
I have a impression that whey is the powder and curd is the watery one.
Thank you

They aren't synonymous. Adding to what Alphecca said, whey is the watery part that remains after the formation of curds.
