Also, marriage is a matter of choice for most people in the Uk, if you want to you get married, but it is perfectly acceptable to live together without marriage. They wouldn't agree with "try it before you buy it", simply because that's just what we believe. There are a lot of different opinions and older people do tend to be more conservative about these things, but I do not think many people are virgins when they marry in the UK.
