Crivens-pronunciation

a friend of mine has been wondering what the pronunciation of 'crivens' is and now it's nagging me too. our guess is with short i, not a diphtong, but english is not our first language and we don't have a native at hand. i'd be grateful if someone enlightened us on this one.
regards,
lukasz
