Criminals re-offending

Research suggest that the majority of criminals who were sent to prison would commit crimes when set free. What do you think of this case? What should be done to solve this problem?

Crime is an aching problem of many societies nowadays and there has always been a heated debate of which is the best way to tackle with criminals. Imprisoning criminals is the traditional way but many people are anxious that when being set free, they tend to re-offending. This essay will analyze this issue and give some solution.

Firstly, it it obvious that, prisoners have chance to interact with others, there for they can learn more about crimes which is increase proportion of their re-offence after being released. In other words, prisons are universities of crimes. Secondly, after rehabilitating in society, some people want to live in peaceful and normal life but the community do not welcome them and even boycott them. They realize it impossible to make an honest living so they tend to re-offend.

To iron out the problem, from my perspective, petty criminals such as shop lifters and pick-pockets should on;y be educated and provied with vocational training. It is simply because the root causes of crime are poverty and lack education. In particular, if these people are had been education and abilities to earn living, they will not want to commmit crimes anymore. Besides, community service such as maintaining parks and doing some construction work is the good idea to give criminals are far away from prisons.

To sum up, the government and authorrities should invent optimal ways to combat against crime. We shoul focus on reforming criminals to prevent them from re-offending.
