Crevice

''There is a fence on the tennis court where I usually play. It consists of planks and there is a small crevice between each plank. I hit a very good shot and as I used a lot of strenght, the ball made its way through one of the crevices.''

I'm not sure that 'crevice' is the right word though. Any suggestions?

I've attached a picture to make it clearer. (There's more space between the planks that are a part of the fence that I am referring to, but I couldn't find a better picture.)

Thank you.
