Credit/go back

Hi

Those of you who watch our program will recognize Steve's name from the credits, since he's a regular on the show. What you may not know is how far we go back with him.

--- Does "credit" mean "achievements" here? So people know his name because he contributed to many achievements on the show?

--- "go back with him" - does it mean "how long we know him"?
