Creating?

Hi, everyone.

Our Linsonah family started 25 years ago with a breastfeeding mother creating her own pure lanolin nipple cream when no other could be found.

Could you tell me what type of phrase this(the one in bold) is?

Is "creating" a preasent participle?

Top answer

silak12 Could you tell me what type of phrase ... It starts with 'with', so it's a preposition phrase. The complement of that phrase is everything else, and that's a participle clause, a particular kind of non-finite clause.
