Cream and flavors or fruit

I was looking up the definition of 'whip' in the Macmillan Dictionary and I came across this definition among the few the word had (actually I was looking for its political meaning).

1-a sweet soft food made with cream and flavors or fruit

It seems that whip is a food made with cream and also flavors or fruit. But looking at the definition, one might technically imagine that it is made with fruit or cream and flavors.

Could one use punctuation to make things clear here:

2- a sweet soft food made with cream, and flavors or fruit

The comma after 'cream' should make things clearer.

Gratefully,
Navi.
