Crashing

Hi,

The patient is close to crashing. Does crashing mean dying? If so, is it slang?

Thank you

It would depend on the context. This could mean: falling asleep, suffering a collapse of some system in this body, lapsing into a coma, passing out, etc. Furthermore, different hospitals could use different medical slang.

I heard many times the word "crash". For example in a lecture about hemorrhagic shock the lecturer said: You will not see low blood pressure in kids and young people until they crash. He meant the first presentation in shock is not low blood pressure.
In such situations like shock or anaphylaxis ,the word crash means collapse?Did I understand properly?

I have no medical training, but based solely on the syntax, "crash" in this lecture about hemorrhagic shock apparently means to go into (hemorrhagic) shock. There would be no warning - by a drop in blood pressure - before the person goes into shock. But there will be a drop in blood pressure after the person goes into shock.

Not exactly. It means the patient's vital signs are showing that they are about to go into cardiac arrest or that they are already in cardiac arrest (i.e., having a heart attack) and action must be taken immediately to save them. It's hospital jargon, not slang.
