Cozy

The meaning of cozy:

cosy

adjective

giving a feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation

Living in a tropical country the weather is mostly warm or hot. When I go out it is usually sunny. When I go home, I often got to switch on the air-conditioner to feel good.

So I don't understand why cosy meaning giving a feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation.

Can somebody explain why the dictionary meaning of cosy seems opposite to how I made myself cosy.
