cover/close/fold the cellphone

After we turn off our cellphone, we cover/close/fold it.

Which verb should I use to make it sound right? Thanks.

Hi Angliholic

I'd recommend simply saying "we close it".
If you want to be more specific, you might say "we fold/slide it shut".

Thanks, Ant and Yankee, for your help.

Everything is clear except for "slide it shut."

All of a sudden, it dawns on me that sliding it shut may be like a sliding door. Maybe the cellphone is shut in that similar way, right?

Hi Angliholic

I know there are cell phones that you fold in order to close them. I'm no expert on cell phones, but it seems to me I've also seen models that slide open/slide shut. Yes, that would be somewhat similar to a sliding door.
