I will receive my bachelor's degree in Social Sciences in June. I’m willing to deepen my educational experience through a practical and international assignment and I think that the UNHCR would be the perfect Framework. Then I could start my Master in International Relations and Humanitarian Action with an advantageous practical background.

Indeed, I’m interested in working for UNHCR because I wish to gain a practical experience of dealing with refugees’ problems. If nonvoluntary displacements have been part of human migration for centuries, it revealed itself as particularly important in our conflicting world made of extremely various environments. As it threats stability around the world and prevents people from living a decent life, it's a matter that needed reflection and action; and I want to participate to this effort, in any way, on the field or through analysis.

Especially, I would like to contribute to the implementation of an efficient and common European asylum system and the protection of refugees rights in the region. That’s why my first choice is to work in the office of the Regional Representation for Central Europe in Budapest. While debated constitutional reforms are voting and xenophobic sentiments spreading, it’s important to continue to communicate about the necessity of integration and respect of asylum-seekers, and refugees in the Hungarian society. Beyond this national necessity, it’s vital to address the problem of statelessness all over the region and protect them through practical action and cooperation with government and NGOs.

If I never worked directly on the protection of refugees, I previously held a two months internship in a French administration in Bordeaux, a Departmental Delegation for Social Action, depending on the Finance Ministry. While there, my principal responsibility was to draft a report about the services provided for the pensioners of the Ministry. By combining legal, political and sociological analysis, I prepared a comprehensive study of the work of the Ministry on behalf of its pensioners, and identified areas meriting additional attention and reform. Drafting this paper helped me to improve my research and analysis skills; qualities that I would be proud to make the most of in contributing to safeguard the rights and welfare of refugees. Besides, I have taken a number of courses on International Relations, Conflict Management and Analysis of contemporary Conflicts throughout I addressed the topic of internal displacement.

Moreover I had the opportunity to participate to a Taiwanese-European volunteer program during my stay in Taiwan. I taught to local primary students along with a Taiwanese teammate. More than a sole teaching experience, it increased my appetite for volunteering and humanitarian work, my coworking abilities and my flexibility.

Having an internship at the UNHCR in Budapest or in any other location would be a challenging and meaningful opportunity to me. Become familiar with daily work of the organization and work in a different environment would be an extra to the proudness of serving the cause of the protection of Refugee. Highly motivated and hardworking, I would give all my time and interest to my work as I did during my previous jobs and at the university.
