Letter Writing

cover letter / native speaker

Hi,

I wrote a cover letter, but I don't know if a native speaker understand, what I wrote. (missing image)

cover letter:
So I make different experiences at your company as working student and as trainee, and my father have been working at BMW since nearly 40 years in the development, your company is well known to me. I am actually in the fifth semester of my mechanical engineering study at the Munich University of applied Sciences and next year I want to make my second practical semester at your location in the United States of America, straight after the spring term. The practical semester must have a duration of 20 weeks.
Next spring term I will participate at an exchange program of my university of applied sciences and study one term at Kettering University in Flint. So I will get an insight into the American democratic society and its lifestyle and this is a good prerequisite for my work at BMW North America.
My first work experiences I made with BMW were on a traineeship in summer 2003.
In the department EK-30 I was over half a year in 2004 a working student and supported mostly the module engineer. I could finish my dedication up to now in the department EI-213 in an eight week season in summer 2005.
But I made all my work experience in Germany and to work at BMW in the USA it would be an important step for improving my personal skills.

thank you,
shm

I'm not 100% sure what your letter is about. Have you previously done work experience at BMW in Germany and you are now applying to do work experience at BMW in the USA? You need to start off with stating what you want.

You still haven't actually asked them for a work experience placement. If I got this letter I wonder what you were talking about - why is this person writing to tell me that they and their father have worked for my company?
