Cover letter for scholarship

Dear Sir or Madam,

I wish to apply for the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies ( CEEPUS) for a period of a summer semester 2012. My university is not a member of the CEEPUS programme, I have to apply as a freemover. Presently, I will be completing my last semester of Master´s degree at The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Faculty of Law. This is my last chance to study abroad and I would like to use all my possible abilities to gain and make the best of this chance. I am very interested in this exchange programme and studying at the Faculty of Law, The University of Split, and I truly believe that this experience will richly contribute to my future success in my profesional life.

Education has always been an important aspect of my life. I already took advantage of Erasmus programme spending two semesters in Poland in order to acquire a good knowledge of the polish culture and the language. Now I would like to get to know other country.

During high school I was interested in law. After successful studies, I graduated with the best grade in law subject and I continued with my hobby at the university. I am keen on law and I am a member of ELSA (the European Law Students' Association). During my studies I passed one year by having practise in the Disctrict Court in Pilsen, where I had opportunities to use my knowledge in practise. My passion is travelling and law and the best way how to connect these two together is to study law abroad. Each experience from abroad can help me and can expand my personality being independent. My first longer stay abroad was when I was working as a housekeeper in the USA. This experience taught me to live alone and to be responsible.

Now my knowledge of Czech legislation and legal systém is very good . Another step in my life is to keep studying abroad and I would like to focus on the different legal system and of course I also want to improve my legal english. I realise that legal proffesion is very limited within one country and its legal system and I know I would like to work somewhere outside my country. The only thing I can do for it is to obtain experience in foreign country. I truly believe The University of Split can help me to get closer to my dream and my proffesion. The reason why I chose Croatia is that I am interested in the East and Central Europe culture and last but least reason is that I need to collect literature and I will write my master thesis about „Compension damage in survive“ and I would like to compare Czech, Polish and Croation legislation.
