With this letter I am applying for the open PhD position in Advanced Video Editing.
My name *. Since May 2009 I hold a Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies and Automation from the same institution, where I was ranked within the top ten percent group of students. Currently, I am finalizing my master thesis at the *. By the end of February I expect to gain my Master of Science degree in the area of Digital Signal Processing at * where I expect to rank among the top three M.S. students.
My ambition as next career step is to pursue a Ph.D. in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, where I could dive deeper into current open research challenges. Through exploration of the unknown by the means of scientific investigation, I tend to develop systems that perceive the world, learn and adapt in ways that can augment and enrich our lives.
In the past 2 years I was performing research at digital image processing research group - * with focus on *. During my research activities at the *, I sharpened my critical thinking and analysis skills and acquired advanced skills and techniques related to data representation, probabilistic data models and machine learning approaches. In addition, I strengthened my theoretical knowledge and become conversant with advanced digital image processing techniques such as numerical optimizations in Computer Vision.
I tend to execute my goals with independent and team work, with insistency towards detailed problem resolving and with creative tenacity. I am confident that I can bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm. Furthermore, because the area of Computer Vision and Machine Learning is my personal passion, I will do my best to exceed your expectations and hope to add more diversity to your program.
