Respected Sir/Madam,

I would like to express my strong interest in the Ph.D. position in protect titled “xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx” at Aarhus University, Denmark. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Biotechnology as a dual degree program in November 2017 at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxx.

During the course of my academics, I have managed to maintain a healthy score. My overall CGPA of Master’s is 7.41/10. Other than the core courses in the curriculum I have also taken up courses such as structural biology and molecular biology. These courses have really intensified my passion to further understand the of proteins. It is also one of the factors that motivated me to take up research as a career.

Complementing my strong theoretical background I have also gained hands-on research experience by getting involved in ongoing research projects within the department as well as during the in-house and out-house trainings. I have acquired hands-on experience in Interdisciplinary areas of life sciences such as Immunology, Microbiology, and Bioinformatics. Among all the trainings I have acquired, the work that really intrigued me was during my undergraduate summer training at NIT. Here, I investigated protease-producing bacteria from the soil. The project involved isolation, purification and characterization of the enzyme. I really loved the idea how we could isolate the smallest of things from a microorganisms. While I was completing my master’s thesis, I became quite sure that I really want to go in this field of science. I became competent with the cloning with different vectors, isolation and purification of proteins.. Additionally, I have worked as a student assistant in immunology lab and have also carried out appreciable research in bioinformatics. I have also been able to publish a research work in scopus indexed journal. I have also and submitted a research paper which is currently being peer reviewed in scientific reports.

The reason I want to join your lab is because of the active research going on there, and obviously who wouldn’t want to work in the facility which uses X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy to understand the proteins. This is like a dream come true for any student. Along with the range of opportunities, this Ph.D. position will also provide me an international platform and research environment to learn and hone my skills from the best and apply that knowledge to the world. I am self-motivated and determined towards achieving my goals.
