Cover Letter for Internship

I want to create a cover letter template that I can use in the future job application. I am not a native English speaker, so the letter I wrote may have a lot of grammar mistakes. Please let me know your suggestions. Thanks for your time.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Snowball. I am a graduate student studying information system at XXXX school.

I think ABC's internship program is a good fit for me because of the following reasons: first, since 2010, ABC announced several new products and services. I really see ABC's potential to become the leading company in XYZ industry in next five years. In addition to that, I also talked with my friend who did internship in ABC about his experiences there. After the conversation, I really like the culture of ABC.

I have a strong academic background which is evidenced by my undergraduate and graduate level classes. My academic projects are around risk & control, data analysis, service management and project management. I am pursuing ITIL V3 certification and will have the certificate by the end of December, 2013. I also learned accounting skills from my undergraduate accounting program which allows me to understand the financial impact of the business.

In addition to my academic performance, I had two internship experiences. One is doing business analysis in a private equity firm. Another one is delivering compliance solutions and performing application testing for a software company. I built up my leadership skill by leading four student organizations on campus. I am a good team player as well as effective worker.

I believe I can learn a lot from ABC's internship program and also create value to the company. I appreciate your time and consideration. Look forward your response. Thanks.
