Here there is my cover letter for a trainee placement in a museum. Please let me know about mistakes and the overall form. Thank you for your patience
To whom it may concerns,
I am writing You in order to apply for the Erasmus Plus traineeship program, an EU's flagship initiative for a minimum of 2 months to a Maxime of 12 months lenght, beginning from September 2016. My name is Gìììì ììììì and I’m an undergraduate student currently attending the last of a three years BA degree in history of art. I have great expectations of growth and enrichment from this trainee experience abroad, which I believe to be an invaluable opportunity to have an insight into the world of museums and a hands-on experience to encompass with my theoretical preparation.
My academic background includes a wide ranging survey of knowledge from Greek and Roman times up to nowadays postmodern artistic expressions. I’ve successfully achieved excellent results in 14 different courses, which spreads from history to literature besides history of art.
I’ve particularly focused my attention on modern and contemporary art. I’ve cultivated my major interests in Italian Renaissance and Mannerism, with a special election for artists such as Michelangelo, Piero Di Cosimo, Leonardo, Raffaello etc. I’m also immensely fascinated by french XIX century art, XX century avantguardes, American abstract expressionism, '60s Italian and French artists. I am currently working on my bachelor thesis on Lucio Fontana.
Critics like Fiedler, Hildebrand, Baudelaire, Warburg, Panofsky, Gombrich, Hauser, Schapiro, Greenberg, Adorno and many others have been my mentors and constant incentive to improve myself. I’ve always been trying to spread the spectra of my knowledge both breadth and depth with extra lectures, which helped me develop critic understanding and an intellectual engagement.
Besides my academic studies I've also pursed language courses. In 2014 I have had the Ielts certificate in English with an overall band score of 7.5. I also learnt a bit of French and Spanish. However my versatility helps me to learn and understand easily different languages. I hope to learn and improve new languages with this abroad apprenticeship.
I also have previous trainee experience. This year I’ve indeed participated as apprentice to an exhibition project at La Sapienza own Gypsortheque. The title of the exhibition was “Confluences. Antiquity and contemporaneity”. It gave me the opportunity to have curatorial insight and a physical engagement with masterpieces. I challenge myself in a direct contact with the public and artists. I enhance my expression and writing abilities by editing some interviews and reviews for online magazines of the faculty.
This working opportunity I have had made me kindle the desire to be involved in museum life and carved my idea of future engagements with a career in galleries and museums. The vibrant atmosphere of Your museum, the possibility to learn in front of original works and to be at the forefront of research, is my highest ambition. My ultimate goal is to proof the knowledge I acquired at university could be transferable in practice successfully. I'm confident I will honor the opportunity with my insatiable curiosity to learn and my diligence.
I will enclose my CV to this email for further informations. In case you will accept my request, I have to kindly ask You to complete, sign and send me back the ‘Training Agreement & Quality Commitment’ form attached.
Please note that I have a 30 days deadline from now to communicate my university the destination and to submit them Your acceptance letter.
If you need further information, please don't hesitate to contact ******** Head of the International Relations Office of La Sapienza university.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this application. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
With kindest regards

Don't use that. You're only applying for a traineeship, not a lifelong job.
