I'm about to send off a covering letter for a job. I was just wondering if someone could please take a quick look at it (below).
The main bit I'm not sure of is where I've used the colon before listing the specific computer programmes that I have experience with. Is that an OK way to use it?
Cheers!
Kevan
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a final year student, studying towards a MEng in Civil Engineering at the University of Glasgow, writing in response to the ‘Graduate Civil / Infrastructure Engineer’ position advertised on jobsite.co.uk (Ref No: ).
During my studies I have been involved in numerous design projects across various engineering disciplines which I have always enjoyed. These projects have offered the opportunity to demonstrate the design skills developed from my classes.
In addition, I acquired experience within Halcrow Group Ltd.’s transportation business group where I was invited to work for three consecutive summers (as detailed in my CV). This experience provided an excellent opportunity to develop my computational skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel in particular.
I believe that the above experiences make me a strong candidate for this position
I have completed my final exams, and would therefore be available to start immediately.
My CV has been attached for your consideration.
I look forward to hearing from you soon
Yours sincerely,
