I am writing this mail in response to advertisement on institute website for the Ph. D studentship in the project entitles -----------------.
I have complete knowledge of Biological Science with a Master Degree in Agriculture, specialized in Plant Biotechnology, from XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. As you see my resume I have successfully completed the academic courses wide range of topic in Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering and analytical with CGPA of 7.9/10. During my studies, I become very much interested in isolation and characterization of bioactive compounds, its production using plant cell cultures / hairy root cultures and study medical application using animal models.

After masters, I have almost three years research experience as a Research fellow at the Indian’s renowned research institute. And worked in Indian government funded project.. My responsibility was to developed protocol for virus indexing, agrobacterium mediated gene transformation and screening of angiosperm and gymnosperm species for bioactive compounds using different analytical techniques. During project at Indian Institute of technology Delhi, I was specially deputed to Tropical Botanical Garden Research Institute, Trivandrum to work on rare plant specie and analyze bioactive compounds. Besides my responsibility, I also accomplished some research independently or in a team on experiment designing using software and modeling and simulation for bioreactor scale. These experiences have given me an opportunity to work closely with other teams of Molecular Biologists and Bioengineers. These practices developed skill of learning and excelling at latest techniques as needed.
XXXXXXX has a very strong research program with focus on my main research interests, along with a distinguished faculty. The research work of Prof. XXXXXX on biosynthesis, functions and, synthesis, profiling of secondary metabolites and genomic studies in algae has encouraged me to apply.

This is a very interesting opportunity for me and I feel that my educational background in Agriculture Science and Plant Biotechnology and string technical experience will make me a very suitable candidate for this position. I am confident that I can put valuable contribution in your lab research activities.
