I am writing to you as I wish to join xx programme in xx at xx University. I have two years professional experience in a biopharmaceutical organization with a Masters in Medical Molecular Biology from University of xx, London. I have been constantly looking for a right opportunity to tune my knowledge and improve my industrial exposure which has come in the form of this xx programme.
Discoveries and inventions in the field of biotechnology and medicine have made a major impact on the health and well being of the society. It has created an ardent interest and later a resolute ambition of being a part of this biotechnology world. My interest in biotechnology dates back to school days and from the first time I was introduced to this word. This interest and my good academic results led to the admission of B.Tech Biotechnology in xx University, India and I was among top 10% of the class.
I joined xx Pvt Ltd, Bangalore as a fresher but acquired the technical skills in a short period of time and efficiently contributed to the team’s research work. During this two years time I worked on recombinant proteins and my passion for molecular biology grew which resulted in my Masters in Medical Molecular Biology at University of xxx, London.
During my Masters, I was very ill due to Mycobacterial lymph node infection and took medications for 6 months. As a result, I was exempted from laboratory project but I did a Bioinformatics project under Dr P. I could not attend one of my semesters regularly but I did not take any consideration with respect to my course works and exams. I was determined and really worked hard to complete my course but couldn’t get good grades because of my health. Over time, I have attended various traineeships, seminars, symposiums and undergone certificate courses which reflect my commitment to acquire knowledge constantly and have detailed it in my resume.
From school days, design and creativity has been my interest and have won some prizes in writing and painting competition. This influenced me to become a member of decoration and organizing committee in my department association at xx where my team spirit improved as we share responsibilities. xx University provided me a platform to mingle with students from different Indian states and to learn their language, customs and culture. This interaction later helped me in xx University to have an international exposure where I met people from all over the world. Since 2008, I am an active member of ASHA, an organization focusing to provide education to underprivileged children in India. These experiences have molded me into a hardworking, dedicated and well rounded individual.
Xx University is the right place because of its unique industrial based traineeship programme along with a good set of faculties and interdisciplinary research environment with state of art laboratories. The flexibility to choose one of the four interesting profiles and the industrial exposure earned through the xx programme really inspired me to join xx University. This programme would definitely improve my industrial experience and would provide me the best opportunity to put my knowledge and design skills into creating solutions as there are group and individual design projects involving real time industrial problems.
With anticipation that my credentials are found worthy of admission, I expect an interesting and rewarding future through xx programme in your esteemed university.
