Application for an internship at XXX São Paulo, Brasil.

Dear Ms. XXX,



I would like to apply for an internship in the marketing or sales department in the XXX subsidiary in São Paulo for the period from December 2010 till April 2011.



As set out in my curriculum vitae I am studying Economics Engineering (M.Sc) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with emphasis on marketing, knowledge management and hydropower. In summer 2009 I graduated with the B.Sc. in International Industrial Management at the University of Applied Sciences Esslingen. Due to the international orientation of my course I would like to spend a practical semester abroad, preferably in your subsidiary in São Paulo. During my bachelor thesis about Competitive Intelligence in your Corporate Marketing department in Germany I got insights into the hydro business and the “Go2Hydro” Database. My tasks included the assessment and further development of the competitive analysis. I am confident that I would be an asset for the team in São Paulo. An internship would be a great opportunity for me to support your organization and to enhance my skills to provide a deeper understanding of my field of studies. Thus I can improve my future career prospects by gaining practical as well as cultural experiences.



I already gained work experience through an internship at the XXX and I participated in a three year apprenticeship as electronic technican at the XXX. At XXX I was involved in the development of a knowledge database for the marketing and purchasing department. As part of my apprenticeship I acquired knowledge in electronics and engineering. Additionally I have excellent communication and presentation skills, having given many presentations at different companys and at the university. I have studied English for 7 years and I also attended an international semester at the University of Pisa with courses in English, therefore I can speak it fluently. At the moment I am attending a Portuguese course in order to learn the language.
