Couple, singular or plural

Hi.
Is it OK to say the couple (two married people) were very different from each other. ?

Persian LearnerIs it OK to say
Not only is it OK, but you have to use "were" because of "from each other". You can't possibly use "is different from each other" because "from each other" implies more than one.
