Country-side Drinking Culture

There's a whole "cult" surrounding life on the country-side. Many people leave big cities moving to smaller cities on the country-side looking for peace, welfare and life quality.

If you drive some miles away from the big cities towards the country-side you will notice that "barbecue, parties and drinks" are important parts of one's life who lives in these areas. They work hard all day and at evenings, the bar is an obligated stop. "You haven't had enough if you're still sober and having some control over your body" it's a typical thought pattern. Indeed, drinking among friends can be such a great thing to do. A good way to socialize and have fun but what comes next? They drink as if they were immortal or as if anything would never go wrong. That's not what we have seen.

Many car accidents happen in these areas due drivers' high level of alcohol and most of these accidents leave scars and take lives away. And I wonder if alcoholic drinks couldn't be replaced by a soft drink or a juice. Not that I'm against alcohol, I'm a beer fan myself but I think one's should have, at least, responsibility because when one's driving drunk, it's not only one's life in risk, most of the times, there's always someone else involved. I have heard about people who died during their way to work, in an accident caused by a drunk driver. I don't know how I would live with the guilty of having killed someone due my irresponsability over my shoulders, definitivelly a hard thing to deal with.

Let's celebrate life, after all, if you want a better living, you have to be happy to be alive, but I think some responsibility would make one's living even better.
