Count/matter as meaning important

1.Why does that count in learning the language?

2.Why does that count for learning the language?

3.Why does that matter in learning the language?

4.Why does that matter for learning the language?

As far as I know, the two verbs "count" and "matter" can be used to mean "important" when they're used as intransitive verbs in certain contexts, so I wrote the four sentences to mean "Why is that important in/for learning the language?".

I'm curious to know whether they're correct English and make sense.
