Counting numbers in reverse in lists!

Hello.

I've seen many lists where people count numbers in reverse in them, and it always makes me confuse which one is actually number 1, the one in the top, or the one in the bottom of the list!
For example, if the following list is my favorite colors' list, which color is my top favorite color and which one is the least favorite?

5. Blue
4. Red.
3. Green
2. Yellow
1. Pink

Thanks.

Karen15 For example, if the following list is my favorite colors' list, which color is my top favorite color and which one is the least favorite? It is not clear. If I was forced to guess, I would guess that pink is your favourite.
