Countable or uncountable??-volume

I attached two files that I'd like a friend whose native language is English to read them aloud and record when she has time.

I'd like to say;

1)But there are a lot of volumes. You don't have to read all of them. You can just choose which you like to read.

2)But there is a lot of volume. You don't have to read all of them. You can just choose which you like to read.

Thank you in advance!
