could've

One boy and one girl ride a train. There is only one seat empty on the train. The boy takes the seat without asking her girlfriend. After a few minutes the get off somewhere. Now the girl is so angry at her boyfriend because he didn't ask her to take a seat. She says, "you could have given me a seat if you had wanted to". Here the use of "could've" is correct?
