couldn't wait until

Is this correct?
I could wait until next week to watch it. I had to go to the movie tonight.

Top answer

No, the second sentence contradicts the first.. If you had been able to wait to see the movie until next week, you would not have had to see it that night. Also, the second sentence could be worded better: I had to see the movie / go to the movie s tonight.

I would like to ask if it would be correct to say: " ! had to go see the movie tonight." or is the infinitive form (to see) absolutely necessary?

I posted this question earlier without realizing that I wasn't logged into my account, but since I don't see it published yet I am going to ask it again. I would like to know if it would be correct to say: " I had to go see the movie tonight." or is the infinitive form of the verb (to see) absolutely necessary?
