Grammar

couldn't hadly

Hi,

Please take a look at the following sentence:

Sometimes we couldn’t hardly tell ourselves from each other.

Note the words in bold/italics. Is this grammar okay?

I understand the classic version should look like this?

'sometimes we could hardly tell ourselves from each other"

mus-te
