Couldn't

He got used to an air-conditioned environment or rooms, so he couldn't sleep without an air-conditioner.

Please check it.

I'd say it differently:

He got used to sleeping in a cold room, so he couldn't sleep without AC.

He got accustomed to sleeping in a cold room, so he couldn't sleep without the AC on.
