Hi,

Why is "COULD" used in the sentence below? Can we use "MAY OR MIGHT" despite "COULD"? Please, explain.

I have been watching American movies and dramas and I have been noticing that they use most of the time "could" instead of using "may or might". Is this American English that they use mostly "could"? Thanks

No. Not at all. In the meaning "It is possible that" we use "might" quite often; "could" not so much.
