Could you tell me what you think about the bold clause??

What do you think about the bold? Is this how you would say it?

  • When you receive a text message on the phone, the light turns red and when you don't have an unread text message, the light is green. His phone's light is more red than it is green.
  • She moved back because she got/was getting divorced.
