Could you review my Writing Task 2?

In the past, lectures were the traditional method of teaching large numbers of students in a classroom. Nowadays new technology is increasingly being used to teach students. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this new approach in teaching?

Until recently, the conventional way of educating involved students’ attendance in a classroom. However, with technological breakthroughs, modern technology is being implemented in the area of education. While this innovation in the education approach can enhance learning and teaching experience, it may physically and mentally influence learners.
On the one hand, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, online platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams are being utilized to adapt to stringent travel restrictions enacted by the governments. As a result, students are under constant exposure to blue light emitted from computer screens, which possibly leads to eye-related health issues such as short-sightedness. Moreover, the sedentary nature of online education increases the chance of contracting obesity among youngsters, which is a catalyst for other diseases. In addition, online platforms discourage face-to-face interaction between students, which is crucial in developing healthy relationships. In effect, 78% of Vietnamese students are under constant stress for the lack of social communication amid the pandemic, even though they attend online classes regularly.
On the other hand, the new educating methods involving technological implements are beneficial to the students as well as teaching staff. Undoubtedly, technology such as projectors is capable of improving students’ cognitive capability as well as the ability to recall information. In this sense, colorful templates and infographics presented by projectors in classrooms could capture the attention of students, rendering the academic experience more enticing. Furthermore, the workload of the teaching staff is significantly reduced with the emergence of new technology. In effect, lecturers used to themselves prepare teaching materials, such as handwriting and paper illustrations for students to get a better understanding of the subjects. Yet, with the aid of computers, presentations can be made with infographics so that information can be effortlessly absorbed.
In conclusion, whereas the benefits and drawbacks of using technology in education are explicit, I am inclined to think that the former outweighs the latter. Therefore, increasingly more resources should be allocated for schools and education establishments by the governments so that they will have sufficient funds to upgrade their technological equipment.
