Could you proofread these 3 sentences

Hi teachers,

a) If you have a surgery tonight you will have to eat a special menu: boiled vegetables and boiled chicken.
b) If you don't have a surgery tonight you will have a regular menu and tomorrow you will have to fast before your surgery.
c) If tomorrow you remain in the clinic, I'll come to give you the menu.

Thanks in advance.

Top answer

Leave the "a" in front of surgery out. "Fasting" is used more in religious terms. Try to put it in simpler terms.

I disagree. While fasting can be used in the religious sense, it is also very common in medicine. For example, if I go get blood tests to check cholesterol or sugars, they always ask, "Are you fasting?"

Almost there!
A) Correct.
B) .....menu BUT tomorrow you........fast. (fill in the blank)
C) You didn't use "to be" in the first part.

I have to add, that "stop by" is used more in spoken language. Although you can
use it if you want to sound casual.

Good luck!

Ok...got it!!

So, good use of "still" and "to be"!

B)......but tomorrow you must fast.
C) I'll come to give you the menu tomorrow, if you are still in the clinic.

This sounds more natural.

Try saying them out loud a few times to compare the both.

Hope this helps!
