Could you please,check my sentences?

Please, is it correct to write:

- During past Halloween my children dressed witch clothes and they were very funny (or and they get very funny?).
- Comparing the celebrations between China and the U.S.A.... (or and U.S.A. ?)
- On Christmas night people eat delicious foods (Is it okay "foods"?).
- The foods in the Christmas party are very good! (in or on ?)
- He promised not to do that anymore (the word anymore, can be written either separated or together?).
- She invited me to help her to prepare (or prepare ?) the party.
- This is the chance of my life to make something important(is it correct to use the verb to make here?).

Thanks again,
Julie

Hello, AlpheccaStars!

Many thanks for all your help. But I still have a doubt. Please, help me again!
You corrected a sentence of mine saying: "She invited me to help her prepare for the party". If I write this, the idea won't be that: "a woman invited me to help her be ready for a party
