Could you please tell me which one is correct?

It will be ready on Monday. or It will be ready Monday. and why?

If I'm not wrong the above sentence is correct in AmE.

Based on the question, just "Thursday", no "on". But other context may required the use of "on".

If you are talking about something being ready at any given date, we need to be more specific to avoid confusion

Let's say it's Tuesday today and you ask your dry cleaner if your dryclean will be ready for pick up Thurday.
