Essay & Composition Writing

Could you please rewrite this part of my essay.I don't think the English is very good?

What is the Venture?
I propose to open an Extreme Sports Bar in the centre of Leeds. It will be the first extreme sports bar in this region. I will provide enriched flavoured made to order menu items. I will serve freshly prepared, high quality, popular cuisine that will be targeted to a variety of tastes and budgets with a strong emphasis on moderately priced signature items specific to our market,as I will discuss later . My venture will offer elements of quick casual dining featuring a flexible service model that will allow our customers to choose several convenient dining options , such as a quick casual counter service, casual dining or table service . At this sports bar we want our customers to have a new experience during their leisure and dining time. The sports bar will provide more television screens, more with extreme sports played through DVD's than anywhere else in the region. We wish to combine menu selection, atmosphere and service to create a sense of fulfilment in order to reach our aims of an overall value in both the entertainment and dinning industry. This extreme Sports Bar will provide customers with both a relaxing and sports themed atmosphere (Desiree, 2009 pp 78-82).
I will establish this venture through co-ordinated marketing and operational execution that ensures product recognition and the consistency and quality of our idea. These will include advertising and marketing programs to support our bar. Our venture will then be further enhanced by our emphasis on the strict operational running of the bar and the comprehensive employee training. Extreme sports bar will be held privately by a LLC company or company limited by guarantee owned by Laura McCartney. It will be located in the centre of Leeds. Leeds is great for Students and tourism especially, so a local restaurant should prove to be an effective business venture. The restaurant will need to serve several market sectors. It will predominantly have a family atmosphere as well as to cater for students and extreme sports enthusiasts. We will provide a lunch, dinner and bar menu, also providing a weekly happy hour drink specials, along with lunch and dinner specials.
What is the opportunity?
The restaurant sector is extremely large and therefore is hard to get exact numbers, but from my research I found that the "UK's 26,416 restaurants served 734 million meals last year, up from 721 million in 2004, at a value of £5.27b (or £7.61b when drinks are included) on average, according to the research consultancy Horizons/Foodservice Intelligence". It has also been said that people in Briton eat out more than Americans or Europeans "according to market researcher Datamonitor, buying an average of 633 meals outside the home a year, compared with 614 in the USA, and spending an average of £1,224 a head". It may be said that with the current economic climate that people may be cutting back on the amount that they spend on dining out but this may not be the case, "Eating out has become a much more convenience event that it used to be. Even in the current climate, where spending is under pressure, people do not want to compromise on eating out. They are also getting much more value for their money".
The forecast for the restaurant industry also looks promising; with the UK restaurants market development, reporting "how the next five years will see the value of the restaurant industry increase to £5449 million. Estimations show that 2010 will see the restaurant market grow by a modest 1%".
MORE STATISTICS ON BARS/SPORTS BAR TRENDS TO FOLLOW
Competitive Analysis / Who are the players in the industry? / What are they missing?
Extreme sports Bar will be located in the centre of the Leeds. Currently our venture has competition from four other similar bars; Original Oak Inn, Skyrack, Woodies Ale House and The Sports Cafe. The closest to our location is The Sports Cafe which is located directly in the city centre. With Extreme Sports Bar we hope to move into the customers travelling into Leeds for their eating and entertainment needs and in return thereby increasing our market share. This is our top competitor as it is a sports bar that offers reasonably priced but limited bar snacks, full bar service and the main sporting events shown on many TV's. Having visited the Cafe myself I find it extremely chaotic and only seems to target the market that the televised sports attract, such as males who come to watch the Football/Rugby. I will differentiate from The Sports cafe offering a more extensive menu, a stress free and friendly dining experience, showing extreme sports like free running, snowboarding, extreme motor sports and many more, to market for both the family, student and sports enthusiasts market.
There are many restaurants in the city centre of Leeds but none other that will offer the extreme sports coverage that we will offer. The Sports cafe SWOT analysis will help to understand my venture, develop my target market and produce a business plan to follow.
Strength
Is a chain that has a sport cafe in Birmingham,
The target market is anyone that wants to watch sports in a bar or restaurant atmoshphere and then possible stay on for the nightlife later on in the evening.
Location - City Centre, right behind the train station.
Offers a bar menu with various quick dining options.
Staff
Has name recognition.
Weaknesses
Menu is limited to bar snack food only
Value for money for food is poor
Opportunities (for Extreme Sports Bar)
Could offer a full menu
Family friendly atmosphere
Bring a unique aspect to the city centre
Show extreme sport DVD's on large televisions to attract a different market to normal sports bars.
Threats (for Extreme Sports Bar)
Maintaining consistency with quality of service.
Keeping trained efficient staff
Economic downfall
Another extreme sports bar could open within the same area causing the competition to increase.
Inflation affecting the venture causing an increase in food prices and services.
Fast food restaurants - people watching the extreme sports in the comfort of their own homes.
Other Competing factors of Extreme Sports include fast food chains such as Greggs, McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and Subway. Although these are not directly a competitor of Extreme Sports Bar, they are still offering fast food which could affect our seated dining (Jacquelyn, 2009 pp 55-58) . They are also still competing for the same market share of individuals willing to spend the money on dining out. These fast food companies that I listed above are all within the same geographic area as well.

What are the practical considerations you need to deliver your venture?
I will be leasing a property that will be the location for my business. I have made various contacts by registering with several pub companies. My initial contact has been with the member of the lease requirement department on a property in the Headrow in Leeds. I have received an information pack on the property and on my decision to lease the property I will sign the necessary documentation and negotiate an ingoing date. Once I have signed for the property, the refurbishment of it will be a priority. I have set aside a value of £8000 for both labour and the cost of each freelancers time (see Appendix for Project costs) . This refurbishment will include various light fittings and a coat of paint to modernise the property. An electrician will also be hired to fit the televisions and sound systems that the bar requires. Previously the property was a public house and therefore contains several bars and female and male lavatory facilities, thereby saving costs of having to fit them. Once the refurbishment has been completed, I will then focus on the marketing of the Bar in order to attract my target audience.
Extreme Sports Bar target market is based on serving the business/entertainer owner, local tourists, sports enthusiasts, students as well as families dining out. As stated from this list I want a variety of customers and will make sure each aspect of this target market enjoy the experience that Extreme sports bar can offer.
Extreme sports bar is scheduled to open on November 20th of this year and promoting our restaurant through a grand opening that will take place December 10th. The reason for the opening date being slightly earlier than the grand opening is because we want our employees to have a chance to put their training to practice, but also to become familiar with the operations of the bar and customer interactions. This opening will be advertised in the papers and on the local radio stations. Even after this opening had commenced the Extreme Sports bar will continue with this marketing to ensure that we target the local market. This market campaign with consist of the following advertising, local store marketing and local media. This is what I will try and achieve with each of the following elements;
Advertising
In-store tour given to all new customers and a brief description of all of Extreme Sports bar aims and how I wish to achieve this.
V.I.P parties available
Posters that not only advertise Extreme sports bar and the vital details but also the specials that I have to offer on food and drinks.
An electronic message board in the window display that change daily to give continuous information of the Extreme sports coverage that is on at that very moment.
We could in the future look to set up partnerships with activity centres that offer extreme sports in and around the centre of Leeds. From rock climbing to sky diving there are many activity centres in and around Leeds that we could advertise for our bar receiving a small cut.
Local Media
Through the radio we wish to pick the top three radio stations on which we will place our advertisement. We will also sponsor some radio competitions where we will offer meal coupons/free extreme sports DVD's as a prize. We will also ask quests on the radio shows to promote our restaurant by describing the types of food and experience that Extreme Sports bar has to offer. We hope that this may target more of the student market especially if they were to listen to certain radio guests promoting our bar.
We also wish to place several advertisements in the newspaper every month to explain what we have to offer. Maybe in the long term group of four or more will receive a 10% discount on there bill.
We also wish to advertise through direct mail in which we will send out leaflets containing interior pictures of the bar, our special offers, a general concept of the food that we have to offer and the range of extreme sports that we will televise.
It may also be possible in the future of our business to target specific cable TV channels such
as the extreme sports channel to promote our link with them.
Public Relations/ Extreme sports bar marketing (Local store marketing)
Sponsor local school events and University of Leeds sporting events offering t-shirts with Extreme Sports bar on the back and front of every t-shirt.
In the future we could look to making a fashion line promoting Extreme Sports bar similar to the promotion line that big chain company's use such as Hard Rock Cafe.
Look into school programs by promoting perfect attendance and management internships.
To ensure that we are constantly targeting our market Extreme Sports bar market will measure how well the advertising campaign. We will take a few random surveys from customers at the bar that they can fill out at their leisure whilst dining at the bar. The survey will consist of questions such as; how did you first hear about Extreme Sports bar and then various questions about the standard of the service.
What skills and management arrangements do you need?
At the present time Laura McCartney (myself) will run the operations for Extreme Sports bar. My venture will also include the following personnel assistant positions, chefs, bartenders and waiters. In our current market situation, with unemployment as high as it is there is no shortage of skilled, qualified people to fill the necessary positions. It is important to supply certain benefits to full time employees. For example, health insurance will be provided for all full time staff, each employee will be allowed three sick days (anything above this must authorised by a doctor's note) and each employee will benefit from one week of paid holiday after a year of employment.
Laura McCartney (myself) will be the owner as well as manager for the time being of Extreme Sports Bar. I will oversee the running of the bar and make all of the decisions regarding the daily operations of the bar. This organisational structure may need to be adjusted when Extreme Sports bar is fully up and running. I will administer the day to day functions, inventory and the ordering of the equipment, food and supplies, as well as arranging a prompt delivery of each. I will also be responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the bar. There will be two assistant managers for the bar and their duties will be to take over the above duties if I am not present. It is important between these two managers that they both have individual duties so that they both feel that they have a purpose. One manager will be responsible for the kitchen and the other manager will be responsible for the service staff, bartenders and the technical side to the bar (i.e. the televised sports).
We will employ four cooks and each will work a total of forty hours, with each shift lasting 8 hours. There will also be three bartenders/hostesses that will be trained to perform both duties. They will be able to get forty hours or more if they so wish. We will employ four waitresses and their duties will also include a process of cleaning once the bar has closed. We will offer both part time and full time positions.
What partnership/collaboration agreements do you need?
What or who will supply your needs?
The key food suppliers for our business will be quality foods or Bussys. These two food suppliers will be chosen by the manager of Extreme Sports bar as two which he/she wishes to do business with. This choice will also be dependent upon the budget of our business. The decision will also be based on a supplier that can give us a store credit, had the best overall prices and most importantly has consistant delivery schedules. The office supplies will be sourced form a large distributor such as staples. The other necessary supplies like furniture and cooking utensils will come from Selectequip in Leeds. We will purchase the extreme DVD's from sportsflick.com, although this is an American website the range of DVD's that they offer is very impressive. All of these supplies will have to be very carefully monitored and the quality and quantity will all depend on the budget of our business.
