Letter Writing

Could you please revise my recommendation letter?

hello, folks! Hope you guys are doing well:)

My tutor wrote me a recommendation letter recently and he would like to improve it. Since my English level is limited, I really want you to give me a hand and proofread the letter.

Thank you so much!

Below is the letter:

Letter of recommendation
Dear Graduate Admissions Officer,

I am writing to lend my support for ABC to attend XXX to further his graduate studies in Geography. As the tutor for his bachelor studies and a teacher in two of his courses, I have known ABC for more than two years and learned a great deal about his academic performance and personalities.

Though having a considerable amount of coursework to evaluate every semester, I am still deeply impressed by his outstanding paper for the course of “Regional Analysis and Planning”. A daring means of measuring city interaction was adopted by him to analyse the existing spatial structure of the Pearl River Delta. After consulting a number of relevant academic literature, he applied his original ideas to create a unique evaluation system for city interaction, which not only took the appropriate social-economic indicators into account, but also consider the distance between different cities. With comprehensive knowledge of geography and mathematics and impulsion of innovation, he managed to present a first-class paper and got excellent grade in the course eventually.

In addition to courses, ABC shows a keen interest on academic research and has engaged in various study projects, of which the Innovation Project of Sun Yat-sen University is guided by me. Despite the project remains to be ongoing and has not achieved major results, it is no less attractive due to the collision of thoughts. As the task proceeded, I was frequently greeted by his creative ideas, making our conversation appeared to be tin-for-tat and filled with intellectual sparkles. For example, after he read through a number of research papers, he selected the villages which are characterized by electronic commerce industry as the team’s object of study. Given that E-commerce industry is currently penetrating into villages at an unprecedented rate, meanwhile related research is pathetically meagre, the topic he chose is both practicable and innovative.

Without doubt, ABC is one of the few students who often strikes a chord in my heart throughout my teaching years. Judging from the daily talk between us, I can sense his great longing for further study in geography. I therefore highly recommend him to your honour programme and hope that you can offer a hand to realise his dream. I am certain that he will be a dedicated student and an outstanding graduate to your university.

Should there be any way in which I can further assist in your deliberations, please feel free to contact me directly.

Sincerely yours,

Thanks for your attention, teechr!
The truth is, my tutor and I both worked on this letter together. Writing a recommendation letter in English is a really tough task here, so it is kinda common for both the tutor and the student to write together.
I can relate to your confusion if you did find some of my composition styles in the letter, but they are inevitable. One thing I can assure you

CramyOne thing I can assure you is that the letter's content is totally true.
It's not me that you have to assure. You need to convince the intended reader of this letter of its veracity. Otherwise, submitting this letter may turn out to be a counterproductive exercise.

Your tutor can write the letter (on their own) in Chinese, and you can translate it

Thank you for your advice, teacher!
I will talk with my tutor again and ask him to write an original letter for me (if luckily).
