In recent years, there have been more companies take part in social activities such as raising fund for the orphane or helping the elderly in nursing home. These companies consider the social responsibility as a part of their business. In my opinion, i totally support this idea.
There are various reasons for the idea that businesses also have to focus on their responsibilities for the community besides making money. First, we have to admit that our society is a whole and there are connections between every individual in this society. Therefore, the businesses can not separate themselves from this. Moreover, it is impossible for a business or a company to thrive in a poor and underdeveloped community. If the main focus of a business is only money, it can not become prosperous in a long-term period. The clients is going to turn their backs on them as soon as they find out that this business's main focus is only its own benefit.
In fact, taking responsibility for the society is an effective method to popularize the brand name of business. This action not only profits the community but also the business itself. The social activities including sponsoring scholarships or raising money for charity could satisfy the clients and make them want to buy your products which leads to the increase in profit.
In conclusion, i completely agree that businesses should have social responsibility because it is an essential for the long-term development of every individual business.
