The pictures illustrate some proposed changes to the central area of Islip town.

Overall, there are four main modifications will be made to the town center. These involve the construction of a new dual carriageway, pedestrian lane and the expanding of housing estate and other facilities.

At the moment, there are two shopping complexes alongside the main road running from west to east in the north of Islip town. Besides that, the school and park that locate in the west and east respectively are connected to the main road. There are also housing areas to the south of the shopping complexes, between the school and park.

In the planned development, the dual carriageway will be built to divert the traffic and the main road will become the pedestrian lane. The shopping complex to the south of the pedestrian road will remain unchanged. But as the addition of a new bus station, car park and new housing area, the shopping complex to the north will be reduced in size. Furthermore, due to the building of a new housing estate, the park will also be reduce in size.
