Could you please proofread this (it's short)? (native speaker please)

"In reply, the EU side gave a positive appreciation of recent developments in the EU-Moldova relations and expressed its belief that this positive trend would continue. The EU reckoned that there was no need to create a different cooperation mechanism, but it was indeed necessary to improve the existing one. The changes would include organisation of systematic meetings at least once a year and establishment of permanent contacts between experts from both sides."

The is optional here-- the EU-Moldova relations-- and I tend to omit them when unnecessary. Otherwise, your articles are fine.
