Could you please correct my critical thinking ideas and see if there are any grammar or spelling mistakes. Also if you have anything useful that you can add to my critical thinking ideas that would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
These are my critical thinking ideas:
Environmentally, During farming, the fragile top soil and the nutrients it contains (such as nitrogen and phosphorus) can be blown away with strong winds, ending up into rivers, streams, estuaries and underground water. As a result the nutrients pollutant substances can affect livestock if livestock have a direct access to waterways. When the soil is in poor health, plants cannot grow to their full potential. Contaminated soil is a risk to public health and unstable soil can lead to landslips and dust storms.
Socially/economically If the farming is not producing enough vegetables and fruits, then more workers will have to work in agriculture. This guides to less manufacturing/specialized jobs, which in turn leads to less trade, and then a poor-er economy. Corporate farms use chemicals instead of human labor which poison the environment that animals, other plants and all humans have to live in. This leads to poisoned food that has the potential to affect the human health. Sequentially humans will get sicker and some might even die.
Jobs/government Farmers can lose their jobs due to environmental catastrophes such as floods/droughts which can destroy all of their crops and farms. This will put the superior corporations and the farmers in a great loss of money and debts which they may not be able to repay. Government in this case is also affected as the overall agriculture standard of the country goes down. Therefore the government has to pay these farmers to re-farm their crops and increase the countries overall agriculture standard. Deserts created due to deforestation and poor farming practices reduce the amount of land available for agriculture and human habitation. These former forests which are turned into deserts reduce the absorption of carbon dioxide, further accelerating global warming and the instability of climates worldwide. The need for meat in short run drives deforestation process since it converts rain forest to rangeland for cattle. These cattle are then exported to countries making the daily meat consumption. This process is useful for the short run however it is very risky at the long term as it can affects the ecosystem sustainability.
