The given pie charts detail a breakdown of the proportions of Sweden secondary school graduates who were employed, unemployed or pursuing further education in three years (1980,1990 and 2000).
Taken as a whole, from 1980 to 2000, the proportion of employed Sweden students did significantly increase, while there was a decline for the figures for both those who pursued higher levels of education and unemployed ones.
In 1980, half of Swedish graduated secondary schoolers chose to continue their education. After a 10-year period, this number decreased to 38% and remained almost unchanged in 2000. On the contrary, in 20 years, the percentage of students who had a job accreted by 15%.
It is also noticeable that the patterns for the unemployed in Sweden after graduating middle schools experienced a slightly rise from 10% to 12%, in 1980 and 1990 respectively, before dropping back down to 8% in year 2000.
