Could you please help me understand this?

Hi, "A stipend to be paid to you each of the nine months of both academic years in the total amount of $27,000.00." Does it mean that I will receive $27,000 for each of the nine months (i.e. $54,000 for 18 months) or $27,000 for the entire 18 months?

It's not 100% clear, but my guess is $27,000 for the entire 18 months. $27,000 for each of the 18 months would be $27,000 multiplied by 18 = $486,000. Pretty good pay.

Thanks. I know it definitely doesn't mean that I would be paid $27,000 per month, but I'm just wondering whether it means $27,000 for the entire two academic years or $27000 for each academic year (=9 months)?

Did you read Clive's post?

Yes, I did. I was just trying to make it clear that I know it doesn't mean $27,000 per month. I understand that the sentence is not clear, but just want to make sure it's not clear for native English speakers as well and then go ahead and ask. Clive made it clear somehow..
P.s. I wouldn't being by "thank you" if I hadn't read his comment.
